Galanthus nivalis - Snowdrop

I found this snowdrop in Tudor square, Sheffield, within some ornamental planting beds – late winter. It is a familiar spring perennial that grows in damp woodland. Its flowers are 15-20mm long, bell shaped, mainly white, but with green marks on the 6 pointed segments. The plant can thrive in most soil types and in part shade.
