This Privet was one I found in Longford park,
late-winter – and can tolerate most soils and weather conditions. It is a much
branched, semi-evergreen spreading shrub – which very rarely reaches the size
of a small tree. In May/June it can be found to have creamy white, fragrant
flowers, 4-5mm across. Its fruits are shiny, globular and poisonous, ripening
black in the autumn – in clusters.
