Convulvulus arvensis; Morning Glory

I came across this Convulvulus arvensis in Mersey Valley Park, around mid-October. Given Mersey Valley's characteristics of being particularly un-maintained, it is not surprising to find bindweed in such an environment. Convulvulus arvensis can be quite aggressive, known to 'choke' other plants in order to achieve maximum sunlight and thus ensure its survival, I found this particular plant doing just this to the surrounding rubus fructucious stems. These ruderal plants can often be found on uncultivated land, which contributes towards the rather endearing qualities of Mersey Valley (being wild and significantly bio-diverse).

Despite its invasive nature, Morning Glory brings with it strong visual aesthetics when flowering.
